- Citizens Coalition to Repeal the 1966 Dairy Marketing Act
Executive Director. Organized successful coalition of consumers, retailers and dairy farmers throughout the South Dakota to put milk and dairy products back on the free market. In 1978, voters went to the polls and removed state price controls that ended twelve years of guaranteed profits to dairy middlemen. This was only one of two state initiatives not overturned by subsequent legislatures, the other being a 1914 state initiative requiring the use of headlights on automobiles.
